elanamatic: les gourmands
allo les robots!
i am typing on a french keyboard so you will have to forgive my punctuqtion or lack thereof as it is very tricky! we are having a wonderful time in paris. we seem to have avoided most spring showers by sleeping in or ducking into a cafe at the exact right moment.
yesterday we went to Versailles. I have been there before years ago but had forgotten just how opulent. We were struggling to imagine just how out of touch the royals had to be to exist in such a place when the rest of the population lived so humbly.
Today we have been wandering the streets of Le Marais and Beaubourg. We went to the Picasso museum housed in an old mansion that has been tastefully restored. Soon we will head to the Centre George Pompidou.
This city is so gorgeous. Easily one of the most photographic. We have also done a ton of walking...I would love to live here for awhile.
The Food.
The four main food group are cheese, bread, eggs qnd pork. Everything has ham in it.
La Mode.
Women have their jeans tucked into their boots; large sunglasses and a tailored trench. A bunch of baguettes tucked in under their arm is de riguer. Men wear blazers. Children have chocolate on their faces and zip along on scooters or tricycles. tres mignon.
