...is totally the best cafe in Milwaukee. Biff and I can't get over it. Last night, I asked him "would you like to go out for coffee?" and he responded with "okay." so we finally got our stuff together and walked 10-12 blocks over to Brewing Grounds. I love that place. The guy who owns it is so friendly, and he was training another guy to work there last night. The owner guy was all like "Hey, long time no see! How are you guys doing?" and we had some great friendly chatting. Plus, not only did we get our traditional double cappuccinno to split between us, but they even gave us a cafe cubano for free. The cappuccinno at Brewing Grounds is so delectable and perfect. It even has the european chocolate powder sprinkled over the top for a touch of sweetness. The cafe cubano was the perfect counterpart to the cappuccinno--it was compact and rich and incredibly delicious. The two drinks balanced each other out. Mmmmm. Delicious.
When we left it was raining. We stood under the awning of Koppa's Fulbeli Deli and were smoking cigarettes and waiting for the rain to stop, before we dashed out from under the awning with newspapers over our heads.
The movie THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL is a 1951 gem. It's so ahead of its time, it's brilliant. I sincerely believe that it should be re-released, because the whole idea of Americans being paranoid and scared of what they don't know, the whole 'state of national emergency' being started by the government against the peaceful visitor, all adds up to a powerful movie. It's really good.
