Art Colony: screwing up and other things

I screwed up while pouring drinks yesterday. I was mixing watermelon pucker and lemonade, and I thought I had poured both glasses with similiar amounts of pucker in both. But Biff's "watermelonade" was much pinker than mine, and so he got upset. For some reason, it just was not a happy disagreement to have, not that many disagreements are happy, but this one was just depressingly out-of-proportionatly frustrating. Maybe it was the fact we were watching "Ghostbusters 2" and it just wasn't as good as the first movie. I really wanted to like it, I really did, it even had the same cast...blargh. At least we had some fun yesterday: I got him to wear his Team Zissou t-shirt that i got him on ebay... he even wore 80's style aviator sunglasses and a hat. He looked like a celeb, and I told him this often.
Perhaps things seem distorted to me because i haven't had a decent night's sleep in 3 or 4 days. I don't like to think of myself as indolent/lazy/a sluggard, partly because I was called that so often as a kid ("Stop reading! Get up!" etc.) and partly because I have a guilty conscience if I feel that I sleep too much or relax too much. The relaxing guilt I am getting over. I am re-learning how to smell the roses and read books that have no value for class whatsoever. But the sleep thing isn't convenient. I don't have time to sleep.
I also have had We Are DMX stuck in my head for the past few days. If you like 80's music--and I know you do--you really owe it to yourself to check out DMX krew (*who is not related to the rapper DMX by any means). The song "Street Boys" deserves some kind of award for being the catchiest riff since Duran Duran sang "Hungry Like the Wolf".... "Twenty Minute Affair" has the most hilarious, ridiculous, french 80's style lyrics I have ever heard. Absolutely brilliant.
