Cootie Girl: Train Observations
10.6.2002
I know I am in my 30's and I don't have a driver's license. Sue me. But growing up here, you really don't need one. I have been riding the subways ever since I was a young girl and it never ceases to amaze me the things you see on the train. I use to catalog people's outfits and such for shits and giggles. Like my friend once said, "Just because it's weird doesn't mean its fashionable."
Last night on my 11:04pm - 11:56pm subway ride, this is what I saw:
2 mullets - one on a woman and no they were not together
3 pairs of NASTY FEET - I mean if you are going to wear sandals or flip flips please put some lotion or something on your feet and cut your toenails! I really don't need to see long toenails with flakey dry skin it's gross and unnecessary.
1 guy clipping his fingernails and cleaning his ears with his keys (GROSS)
And an outfit that would make you wonder if the girl was color blind or just blind. Picture this - orange sneakers, lime and yellow socks (that's 2 different pair together!), orange stretch pants, yellow t-shirt with lime mesh shirt over it and accessories to match. WOW is all I can say!
On a side note: Is it just me or is anyone else disturbed when they see young children (with their parents of course) on the train late at night? I mean young babies and toddlers (who are still in strollers) awake ridding the subway late at night. Shouldn't they be home in bed or something?
