So it has happened at least 3 times in my life where I had totally strangers come up to me and ask me if they saw me somewhere before or knew me. TWICE in 1989 alone I had some Cure freaks pick me out ... ok back in 1989 it was not so unusual that a girl dressing all back with black hair and a half shaved head standing it line to meet Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie would be called out by some other "goth" kid with a "hey were you at the Cure concert last week?" UM YEAH - like THAT one is not obvious! The other bizarre call out I got was earlier that summer I had been in Ireland and saw The Cure at the R.D.S. Simmonscourt Pavilion on July 16th to be exact. About a week later I had gone to London and had some kid call me out in the street asking if I was at the Cure show in Dublin. That kind of freaked me out ... I mean I was in another country - but then again how far fetched would it be for a girl dressed in black to go to a Cure show. I guess it is not so amazing after all ....
Anyway I bring that up because on Tuesday night I had gone out with Tricia to watch the Ranger game and have an after work drink. We ended up at that hot spot in Port Authority. You know the bar who's motto is "When you miss the bus have a drink with us!" Yeah and well being a Port Authority bar you know the clientele is um interesting to say the least. I had this guy come up to me after about 2 hours and ask if I had gone to Manhattan College (yes I had) and if I was a math major (no, close, but no). He then said I use to wear black cloths, have black hair that was shaved and boots up to here. I had no idea who this guy was. He kept explaining our school and places I hung out. According to him we had Calculus II together and I had lunch with him a few times. I was freaking out because this guy remembered me after 15 years and I had no idea who he was. Does that make me a bad person? I mean actually I was afraid I had gotten drunk and stupid with this guy OR better yet I had gotten drunk and beat the shit out of this guy and he was plotting his revenge for years. I don't know I just thought it was a little freaky. Maybe it was worse because I was pounding the vodka tonics and I was sitting in a bar at the Port Authority.
