elanamatic: The Sizzle
I spend my days surfing the web for the corporate world, trying to come up with innovative contest and promotional ideas. Some of my day is spent in brainstorm meetings or being pitched by third parties. My favourite part of these meetings is picking out the new jargon:
The Sizzle - What makes it sell. Why it's hot. Ex: I like your where you are heading with this idea but where's the sizzle?
Hockeysticking - Used to demonstrate a charting trend. Ex: If you look at this graph, you will notice that the adoption of high speed internet access is majorly hockeysticking in the Western provinces.
Opening The Kimono - Letting you in on a little secret. Ex: I don't normally do this, but because I like you I am going to open the kimono and let you in on how this has been working to our benefit.
The last one kind of disturbs me b/c it conjures up images of sumo wrestlers for some reason.
