elanamatic: Creative Constipation
Today has been such a Monday. My mind and body are so sluggish I am surprised I haven't slid right off my chair into a crumpled heap on the floor. Managed to get a fair bit of work done regardless of my sagging energy levels and incessant web surfing. The lunchtime workout helped, but even that was a struggle. I am not alone though, it seems everyone is feeling that way today.
It's not weekend burnout either. Actually had a great weekend: Friday night - baked Hamentashen for Purim with the dude and his mama. Even made some spelt ones for my sensitive tummy. YUMOLA.
Saturday we brunched at La Hacienda and strolled along Queen W. with Joel. Then I met up with my good friend Jen W. who was in town. Came home to a yummy dinner and then we went to a surprise bday for Raine.
Sunday we dim summed with Ariel and then wandered through snowy Kensington and bought some vegetables and other delectables (sp?). Came home and watched Spellbound - great little movie. Then I made a new dish, roasted salmon with leeks, tomatoes and crispy mini potatoes. Easy and tasty.
Looking for some new creative projects to occupy my vacant headspace. Any ideas? I know I should just buckle down and write but after sitting in front of a computer monitor for 8 - 10 hours a day, it's the last thing I want to do. I need some projects that are both crafty but simple to execute and practical. Maybe I will buy a book on beading or take a mosaic class. Would love to start a book club - any Toronto takers?
