elanamatic: How I Spent My Summer Vacation...
It started with a ghetto fabulous tour of California. Then I encountered a two-week illness. After which I fell into a routine of exercising, reading and writing. Did a fair bit of socializing. Followed the dude on his business trip to Banff where I climbed Mt. Sulfur and met some wunnerful folks (including KM - who, if you are reading this, thanks for your email i will reply soon!) Relunctantly returned to the Tdot where I did some more maxin' and relaxin'. Spent some quality time with some quality friends.. and basically got back in touch with my fine self.
The vacation is now over. Tomorrow is my first day of work. The last time I started working for a new company was almost seven years ago. I have a few butterflies, but they are pretty excited to meet new people and face new challenges. I can't help but think back to how excited I used to get for the first day of school. I was one of those oddballs who really looked forward to it. I loved the newness of it. The fresh pencils and notebooks. Figuring our what to wear. Seeing how everyone had changed over the summer. The first few days were always the best because the workload was light and it was still bright out when I got home...
My friend Tali, who just moved to Toronto this weekend from Montreal is also starting a new job tomorrow. She will be working in a building across the street. How cool is that? We'll have to txt msg discreet rendez-vous.
So yeah, here's to a new job and a new year (it's rosh hashana next week after all...) and old friends and new ones.
PS We've been watching the TAKEN box set. I am hooked. I am dreaming in alien.
