elanamatic: Write, Right, Right My summer of sin is just flying by... I was away two weeks ago and spent last week recovering from my indulgences at the cottage and my visit home.
While it has not been the sunniest, this summer has still been incredible. I really needed the time off to reconnect with myself. I like me again. I am reminded of how bright, witty and light I can be. Job stress had eradicated all the bits of myself that were worthwhile for far too long.
As amazing as this summer has been, on some levels I am still disappointed. I thought I would somehow find the discipline (and stories) to write every day, eventually leading to some catharsis, or maybe a novella or two. Truth is I am a lazy hedonist. I have spent most of my time, reading, exercising, socializing, travelling, shopping... I have done some freelance writing which is a small coup (it pays for the shopping and it builds my portfolio.) but other then the robot (which I LOVE) the writing points are set to nil.
The good news is, I start my new job in two weeks. I am really looking forward to it. It's the one I wanted, the one that kept me up at night. I've been reluctant to talk about it though as I have not yet signed the contract and there are still other offers on the table...
It will be good to join the rest of the working public and have something to do every day although a big part of me wishes I could afford the luxury of working part-time hours. I do enjoy my downtime.
Anyhow, that's the quickie update. I will do my best to keep writing but I think the next two weeks are going to screech by as I try to cram all my to-do items and lunch meetings in.
