yesterday as i walked mrs. moo out of our apartment for a daily jaunt at the lake, a woman that lives in our complex and was also on her way to the lake stopped me and asked if mattie was a pointer. we then had a conversation about mattie being adopted and where we got her and blah blah blah. turns out, this woman and her ex-husband own one of mattie's puppies! you see, when we acquired mattie, she had just had a litter of puppies and all of them were adpoted out before we even met mrs. moo. this woman, however, had met mattie when they adopted their puppy and remembered that mattie's name at the vet was "patty". this is all true.
apparently, the woman and her husband recently split up and unfortunately, the ex-husband has the dog so i couldn't run over to the woman's apartment to meet mattie's daughter. but the owner is going to hook me up with some pics and hopefully arrange a time when we can reunite mother and puppy. (well, now the "puppy" is four years old.) i just kept saying over and over "what a small world! what a smal world!" like someone's gracious granny.
so that is the story of the day we found out about the fate one of mattie's puppies.
