Poem for My Lady Friends
I was thinking about love today, and what it truly means.
Obviously, we can all, men and women, get caught up in
society's dating games, which all too often have failed us.
For some reason, we cease to become ourselves in this quest
for true love. Is not true love, self love...acceptance
of who we are, and how we can love each other in the so-called "unconditional way".
So this is not so much the poem, but the prose for your heart.
We need some soul, we need something to fill the hole.
So sister, let me comfort you, let me put my arm around you, and tell you that I love you, because in God's world, you are special to me.
You don't have to fall for flattery, because you know who you are.
But someone shot you out of the sky, when you were a sweet young star.
Now, you go to a bar, hoping to find Mr. Right, but why doesn't it seem right?
When all the while, your smile held the key. And the guy you thought you wanted was only in your dreams.
I could go on and on, but I know you've got things to do, So please, whatever you do, know one thing, that i will always love you for you.
