1. First movie: 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' - I hear I stood on my chair and yelled "Hooray!" when the witch was driven off that cliff.
2. 'Star Wars' - I'm not saying anymore. I saw it twice, it changed my world, I'm over it. For God's sake, I'm a grown man.
3. 'The Crater Lake Monster/Godzilla on Monster Island' - Double feature at the drive-in. Dad snuck us in via the trunk of the car. Stop-motion dinosaurs. Godzilla. Holy shit, it was paradise.
4. First "R" movie: 'National Lampoon's Vacation' - I laughed like mad.
5. 'Ghostbusters' - Opening night! It was worth the wait.
6. 'Singles' - Opening night also. First real discovery of what the hype machine is capable of...a terrible, terrible movie.
7. 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Harry Potter' movies - these got me through three years in the Shenandoah Valley.
8. 'The Living Daylights' - My first kiss happened during the credits. I left the theater with the entire cosmos swirling in my belly.
9. 'Bullets Over Broadway' - Had the entire theater to myself. I sat in the back and smoked cigarettes.
10. 'Apollo 13' - Not such a great film. I saw it in Bellingham, WA and, while watching it, made up my mind to drive to Alaska the next day.
