Last night was Pedro's Opening Night in New York, against my hometown Nationals. I will always marvel at Pedro Martinez. You may remember him from his beating up a 70 year-old man-Yankee hybrid and making him cry a few years ago. Classic Pedro.
Pedro is the most exciting player in baseball because he is loco. Last night, for instance, instead of pitching well, he hit three batters and almost caused a giant brawl. I cannot wait for when he pitches in DC next week.
By the way, I listened to last night's game on the radio. That may become my summer hobby this year. It is nice to sit with the radio on as the sky darkens to the sound of chattering announcers. I do love the sound of baseball. Plus, most of the Nationals games are blacked out on DC Comcast because of a licensing dispute. So, while people as far away as Denver or Peoria could watch my hometown team on ESPN, I, who live just outside of Washington, had to resort to the radio.
