So, to paraphrase: George Allen called this young man, Mr. Sidarth, a shit-head but he didn't mean it in an embarrassing or demeaning way? This is Allen's version of damage control? "I didn't call him a monkey; I called him a shit-head. And I still don't understand why he would be upset by that." Granted, I assume people refer to Senator Allen as shit-head all the time. Sidarth just isn't used to it.
There seems to be a new explanation for this every single day. Notice that today's 'shit-head' excuse comes from two anonymous sources. That fact, after days of named sources, pretty much gives away the lie. Who are these mystery Republicans that know so much but have failed to come forward for the last five days? This is the "aggressive" spin tactic - y'know, he was just putting this pesky know-it-all kid in his place.
