Huh. I just typed a long essay and happyrobot ate it. I don't feel like typing all that again, so I will break it down for you.
February 2007 - cold. too cold.
Birds - not many. too cold to go look at them.
Movies - Curse of the Golden Flower - so wonderful, underrated. Pan's Labyrinth - highly rated, worth it. Children of Men - Clive Owen = wonderful, movie scared the hell out of me for about 45 straight minutes. All three - very dark, also all three better than The Departed, with its stupid rat ending.
Books - Butcher's Crossing by John Williams - western, slaughter of bison, disillusionment, adventure, I shed a single tear. Great Ghost Stories, edited by John Grafton - very cheap, murderous lab skeletons, cursed monkey's paws, eerie rat-infested mansions, carriages filled with ghosts; honestly, who could ask for anything more? Confessions of an English Opium Eater by Thomas DeQuincey - I won't be eating opium anytime soon!
Baseball - it's on! Boston Red Sox - a mystery. Washington Nationals - remind me of Keanu Reeves movie about underdog football team.
Presently - sober, ground is ug-muckiful. I'm hoping it dries soon.
