I am feeling much more optimistic today, thank you. My first foray into the political quagmire known as public broacasting has mellowed into a quiet grumble of discontent and sneaky plans to agitate for change.
I went to see the Yoko Ono exhibit. And her art was by and large pretty interesting. But I have to say, I found it engaging mostly because it was telling a story of a time, a generation, two cultures, her union with Lennon.
For the first time, I got truly sad about John Lennon. They seemed to be soulmates, excited by each other's ideas, and eager to participate in each other's projects. He would stand still for an hour while she filmed his face and recorded the ambient sounds between them.
I remember watching a Lennon concert on TV and being jarred by the sudden appearance of Yoko from under a blanket who proceded to make sounds like a kettle on the boil. So perhaps they did not always compliment each other's work. But is it not ideal to have a lover who is so game to play with you and who is excited about your art?
