I have this email account that I use to register for stuff and to hand out to people I know will send me loads of spam. I learned this lesson the hard way:
I used to work at an ESL school, and all the Japanese and South American students were crazy with the chain letters ("send this ascii angel to 10 people and your wish will come true... ") and top ten lists and pictures of babies. And puppies. And babies with puppies. Ana Julia was a daily offender. Miyuki loved the cute, vaseline-on-the-lense photos.
It felt like my inbox was being repeatedly violated by people who were "just thinking of you and the fun times we had together".
So naturally, when I went to Asian Social Forum, I gave those I met my spam address. Today, I was giving the inbox it a clean, and found this letter:
hi how are u ? where are u ? i met u in hyderabad and had lunch with u along with other budhisit monks . take care
