I made a whole chicken on Saturday night. It was the first time I have ever cooked a chicken. He was very cute, this chicken. I stuffed him full of dried fruit, onion, apples and breadcrumbs,thyme, and tarragon and said: I hope you are yummy. And it was!
Then I made a gravy with pomegranate molasses, stock, and apricots. And there were potatoes. And there were green beans with cashews. And fresh tomatoes from matt and emily's garden.
Oh yeah, and there were nice people over too. And lots of red wine. And a clafouti tart that we won in the alleyjaunt raffle.
There is something about the smell of a chicken baking. Reminds me of being a kid. All homey and stuff.
