You all saw G's crazy walking video, right?
Well these days Gabriel can barely sleep for all the synapses firing in his brain. He learns something, sleeps a bit, and wakes up having fully processed the new skill. It's wild.
The other day, before he went to bed, we talked about dogs and how they say woof! The next morning, he got up and first thing he said was "Woof!"
I can't believe how much stuff is happening with him! He has his first molars (that was painful for everyone), he has discovered his penis (the beginning of a beautiful friendship), he is trying out new sounds and words, and walks around with the remote control pressed to his cheek, having imaginary telephone conversations.
You will not be surprised to learn that gets into everything, and is determined to unroll all the toilet paper and brandish the plunger like the staff of Gandalf. He pushes the pilates ball down the hallway like the terrible boulder from "The Temple of Doom" "Raiders of the Lost Ark".
After months of having us point out and describe everything, he seems to understand much of what we say and in turn he wants to share his fascination with trucks, balls and dogs. How did he end up so boyish?
All this to say that my cup runneth over. I love this stage. The more personality he develops, the more ways there are to love him, the more reasons to celebrate.
