Pony: Jaws
5.23.2008

Kiff and I watched Jaws last night. One of the original blockbusters. Back when, if you missed it in the theatres, you were doomed. If you didn't get to the movies, you didn't get a chance to rent it or download it. You had to hear your friends DESCRIBE it. In fact, I remember that happening at summer camp - we would make a fort out of the bottom bunk and make it all dark someone would tell the story of Carrie or Jaws and we would SCREAM.

Oh, the olden days. So we were watching the second shark attack scene when everyone is splashing about in the water and Schreider is peering into the ocean with a bad feeling in his gut.

"Don't worry" I said to Kiff. "I don't think any kids die in this movie".

And then that little boy gets eaten.

Oops. I forgot about that scene!

"That just shows you. You are molecularly different now".

huh?

"We are fundamentally different since having Gabriel. Back when you saw that movie, it was just another scary scene. You didn't even remember it specifically. Now you are never going to forget the scene where someone's son gets eaten by a shark."

Gabriel is never allowed in the ocean. All these new fears - we're gonna need a bigger boat.
