Pony: The Bachelorette Meets Vader
7.9.2008
Between commercial breaks for The Empire Strikes Back Return of the Jedi, Kiff and I watched the finale of the bachelorette, where the lucky lady, Deanna, did the equivalent of falling for the ski instructor while on vacation in Aspen. Nice guy, but seriously...a sleeper - not a keeper.
As for Star Wars, I have to say that it was every bit as good as when I was seven, and I still totally want an Ewok. Do you think they would make good pets?
My favourite parts:
When Luke tells Darth that there is still some humanity in him
When Jesse and Jason cry in the limo on the way to propose
The way Darth Vader's mouth breathing really amps up his villainy
The way Deanna's dad kind of seems like a know-it-all douchebag, especially when he said "I knew who you would choose I just didn't say so at the time."
When the Ewoks think C3P0 is magic and sit him in a throne
When Deanna uses a flatiron on her hair to get ready for the final rose ceremony and then stands on her dais, waiting to annoint her chosen one.
When Luke tells Leia they are actually brother and sister (thereby implying it is now totally ok she hooked up with Han). And balance is restored.
After Deanna explains how she just didn't "feel the same attraction" for him as she did for Chewy Jesse, Jason tells the audience that although he's been heartbroken twice, he is totally stoked to throw his heart into the fire a third time. (and the chicks in the audience dab their tears and perceptibly primp).
When Jabba is getting ready to throw Luke and Han Solo and Chewy down into the huge, man-eating desert plant muppet
When Deanna brings Jeremy back for one last tearful, humiliating "it's not you, it's me" conversation.
When Princess Leia gets yanked back by the chain and told by Jabba that she will get used to him - and her bikini top uniform - in time.
The way they kept promising a big announcement right after the commercial break, and how every time we got yanked back, it got postponed -is she pregnant? She kind of looks fatter...but NO! They are just ACTUALLY getting married.
