Birthday Dinners
I didn’t do much for my birthday this year as I wasn’t that excited about celebrating turning 26. I’m getting so old. So, while I was cranky about getting older, Mrs. Robot went and planned about a week of dinners with friends. Instead of having one big birthday dinner, she has planned lots of small dinners.
Last weekend, our pals Jeff & Frauke had us over for pizza. Jeff has gotten all crazy about pizza and has the big pizza stone and makes his own dough. He made a tasty margherita-style pizza and a Hawaiin-style. The Hawaiin was awesomes.
Hawaiian.
Prosciutto, pineapple, cheese, macadamia nuts, and bits of sage. Very good.

The next night we went to Senor John Ball’s apartment and brought over food from Xi'an Famous Foods. They are the little restaurant (these days a little local chain) with food based on the cuisine from the city of Xi’an in western China. They share a lot of culinary influences with their middle-eastern neighbors so there is lamb and a lot of spices that you don’t get elsewhere in China. Oh, yum.

Then on Monday night we met our pal KMAC and her male counterpart (KMAC-MALE) for drinks at the fun Apotheke where they make a pretty awesome almond flavored Old Fashioned and then next door for dinner at Nom Wah Tea Parlor. Beef balls! Soup dumplings! Fried shrimp wrapped in bacon!
Two dumplings left

This weekend we get to see the MattyJ’s and Lawtons for dinner at Monte’s and then our pals Serge & Irene for dinner at a mystery location. And then dinner with Daisy & Stefanie the next night.

Elite
Hey. I just was made a Yelp Elite. That’s crazy.
I’d like to thank Yelp, my lovely wife, and Jesus Christ.

Olives
Stuff them with things! Put them in my martini! Black ones go on my sub sandwich!

Traveling
Also, I'm traveling like a crazy person this week and for the rest of the month.
Cognac > DC > VA > KY > Champagne > Scotland > NH > New Orleans
