My top 8 list of albums on my IPOD that may of come out in 2002...
Lisa, I don't know... everyone has different tastes in things. Like, you hate sushi and I am still your friend.

1. Interpol. I really wanted to dislike this album with it's heavy 80s sound. I mean, it's like listening to some sort of Joy Division / Echo and the Bunnymen super group. Alas, it has grown on me.

2. Wilco. Now, didn't that Wilco album come out last year? They released it via mp3 early, right? I swear I have had that album for years and people are putting it on their list now. I didn't like it a first, but it too has grown on me. The funny thing was I downloaded the album based solely on the title (I mean, I knew Wilco and all...) because at the time I was all into those nutty "Numbers Stations". They freak me out and the title was taken from that. Somehow.

3. The Hives. They were 2002? Rilly? Ok. They F*cking rock. They should be at the top of the list just for that one damn video.

4. Mum. Cute Icelandic kids make super quiet music that sounds just like what you would think super quiet music made by cute Icelandic kids would sound like.

5. Brendon Benson. Love him. Tap tap tap goes my foot.

6. Flaming Lips. I swore off the Flaming Lips ever since they made the unfortunate decision to make that song back in 93 or whenever it was. Before then, I loved them (my wife was known "as the girl with all the flaming lips records in college"). I have made my peace with them and their new stuff is quite tasty.

7. Spoon. Yea, they can play that smart rock stuff. A few tracks on the album I am not thrilled with, but the rest easily make up for it.

8. Preston School of Industry. It came out late 2001, but I didn't start listening to it until 2002. So sue me.

I am missing something major I think. After looking at the AV Club list I see a lot on there that I heard but didn't bowl me over.
That Ugly Casanova album, the Masters of Reality guys (weren't they some sort of super group or something?).
That Beck album (it's nice, don't get me wrong, but... well. Um. It's fine.)

TV News
TV News can lick my food-covered bottom.
Here in NYC we are on the cusp (cusp?) of a transit strike and the local news channels are all having conniptions trying to present the most dramatic news coverage. The idiots at FOX5 are having a field day of saying nothing over and over again. All night we have been flipping on the TV and checking the situation and they have all these dramatic graphics and logos and stern-faced dumbasses talking about the union and the MTA and reach in agreements - yet knowing that no one will know anything until midnight.

I think Fox claimed they were "Transit Strike Central" or some BS.

AirTran
We flew on AirTrans airlines this weekend. Our flight out of NYC sucked because of weather issues that made us about... 5 hours late leaving. AirTran's "terminal" at LGA is a joke. We should know, we sat there all night watching them in action.

On the way back, our AirTran experience was actually nice (except for our seats in the back of the plane. We arrived in NY a full 15 minutes EARLY. The bottom line: AirTran is fine as long as you don't let the LGA terminal bother you.

Written on palm Friday night on plane

Bloomberg got his smoking thing done. Can't believe it and not sure i agree with it...
Even though I don't smoke and hate breathing + smelling like cigarettes - I have friends who do and they will be all annoyed when we go out to a bar to drink bourbon and they are coming and going all night to go outside and smoke.
But thats a dumb reason

where are we?
I wish pilots would give us reports from time to time.
All i know is that we are about 45min out of NYC headed to Atlanta and there are lights below us.
¿como es mi aeroplano?

Pony is in India
So nutty.

9:16
i swear
the pilot just came on the intercom and said:
"Sam's fish house"

that was all.
WTF
