partido para las robustezas
Do you like to party?
Hell, do you not like to party, but like to drink until you feel icky?
A certain website is turning another year older, and since we like milestone numbers like 5, 10, 15, this birthday is a little special.

If you are in NYC this coming Saturday night, let's all get down, and by "get down" I mean, party.
I'll figure out a locale. No gifts are needed. No, really. Certain people who run this site have way too much stuff in their apartment already.
(it'll probably be at magician)

ol' Friendster
Did you read The way I see it: friendster, you blew it?
Great stuff.
I can't believe Friendster, a site that barely operates, turned down Google's 30 million offer.
I mean, let's hope a year from now we are like, "Friendster made the right choice", but I suspect that Friendster could be the David Caruso of the web.

The Office
Did you see that The Office won some awards at the Golden Globers the other night? That is so cool.
'I'm from a little place called England. We used to run the world before you' - Gervais collecting his award.

Election Coverage
Did you listen to that last debate? It was great fun. My favorite part has to be the part that Dave Barry describes below:
In my view, the highlight was when Peter Jennings asked the Rev. Al Sharpton whom he would appoint as chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. The Rev. Sharpton -- who clearly had given this question no thought whatsoever -- nevertheless managed, right on the spot, to produce this answer, which I am quoting verbatim from the debate transcript:
``Oh, in the Federal Reserve Board, I would be looking for someone that would set standards in this country, in terms of our banking, our -- in how government regulates the Federal Reserve as we see it under Greenspan, that we would not be protecting the big businesses; we would not be protecting banking interests in a way that would not, in my judgment, lead toward mass employment, mass development and mass production. I think that -- would I replace Greenspan, probably. Do I have a name? No.''
[ more ]

OK, so let me state the following:
1. I have no idea what the answer to that question is
2. I suspect the other candidates had no idea either
3. I just like his reply
4. It is fun to try to translate it

Snow & Birds
Last night, NYC got a big ol' snow storm. The flakes were humongous - Mrs. Robot said they looked more like debris falling then snow.
This morning we cleared off the fire escape and dumped birdseed which attracted almost a dozen doves, a bright red cardinal, and the generic small brown bird.
Oh, and a grumpy squirrel.

Fat
I know that animals have these thick coats of fur, or that birds have layers of down... but how do they survive this cold weather. Obviously they do.
But can you imagine camping for a month in my backyard?
Sure, even people live like this.
But, how?!

iPoons
I am writing a review of iTunes. Just for fun. But I have re-written it already 5 times. Me and iTunes have had a rocky relationship.

Tamara Tech Time
Our good pal Tamara will be moving onto a new project here at happyrobot and most likely abandoning Tamara Tech Time.
The thing is, I like Tamara Tech Time. Goofballs all always mistaking it for real tech support and asking questions. We need someone else to take over I think.
Someone who is:
a) clever
b) doesn't know much about computers

Any ideas.
Tim, you want to do it? Not saying that you don't know much about computers, but I can totally see you getting into it.
Someone write me.
