it's one of those saturdays where you wake up and you're just absolutely happy-tired and want to stay in bed, but you have to walk to work and it's a gorgeous day so you really don't mind. I sincerely believe that I must be solar-powered in some way, shape or form. If the sun is out, I can deal with anything.
When I was little--like 6, 7, 8 years old--I had an extreme phobia of clouds. I was absolutely terrified of clouds, and dreaded going outside even on a perfectly clear day because I was scared that the clouds would come out and cover the sun. This can be explained by the fact that I watched a lot of TV 30 when I was little, and between the shows that said that the Apocalypse would be caused by Visa cards, and the other shows that said that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Little Mermaid were witchcraft, they would show "public service announcements" that would scare the shit out of anyone. "Tornadoes" the ominous male narrator would read, as footage of huge black tunnel clouds were throwing cars and destroying buildings, "can strike anywhere, at any time! Don't hide in a mobile home! Don't drive in your car! Take shelter in a basement. Cover your head. Keep a radio nearby to alert you to changing weather conditions. Be careful, because Remember, TORNADOES CAN KILL!" The background music for this particular Public service announcement is so loaded with connotations of fear for me that when I saw this commercial relatively recently, it still scared the living daylights out of me. It sounds like a knock-off of the "Psycho" theme. So basically, after seeing this PSA several hundred times, I connected death=tornadoes=clouds. So I didn't go outside for an entire summer because I was so scared of the clouds.
Darn Channel 30. At least I don't have to watch shows like this , though.
