Cootie Girl: my PWDSK
9.2.2004
I went back to work on Tuesday and looked into what I was calling my "emergency kit" which I got from my company and found it's not called an "emergency kit" but a Personal Workplace Disaster Supply Kit (or PWDSK). On further inspection I realized that my mini first aid kit only contain a pair of plastic gloves, 2 band aids, one alcohol swab and one little packet of antiseptic ointment. That would be useful when I get that tragic paper cut. I also forgot that included in this kits is a glow stick - you know incase a spontaneous RAVE breaks out I am prepared.
So the company letter that came with the PWDSK went something like this:
company logo
(in 36 point type bold) PWDSK
(normal size type)Personal Workplace Disaster Supply Kit
This PWDSK has been prepared for you to keep in the office as a safeguard.
We have included:
* Flashlight with batteries
* Glow Stick
* Bottled Water
* Face shield
* Mini kit of first aid supplies
We recommend that you carefully review the attached information from the American Red Cross and include some of the items on their supply list. Your kit should be adjusted based on your own personal needs.
We highly recommend that you included:
* Sneakers
* Sweats
* Granola or energy bar
* Personal Medications
The attached sheet is from the Red Cross site to check it out Click Here.
Now don't get me wrong I am actually surprised that my cheap ass company did anything for us but come on they couldn't spring for a Granola bar and a clean T-shirt? I wish we had gotten these kits earlier in the year. The flashlight would have been useful during the blackout.
Go ahead be jealous of my PWDSK.
