Cootie Girl: Happy Music Saturday
9.25.2005
I just need to tell you all if you have not seen the White Stripes live you should. They yet again blew my ass away. Unfortunately I was not 20 feet from Jack White's penis but I can tell that he was wearing those tight ass pants again to show off his little boy. Oh and he was also sporting a Zorro hat, F-Troop style red scarf and a black cowboy shirt with white piping detail. Meg was in her tight faux leather pants and sheer black top and bra. She can beat those skins like no tomorrow while having her hair blow in the wind from the stage fans. I think she was one bucked of water away from being in a heavy metal video. So not to be redundant but they totally ROCK live. I think I am more impressed with them live because it's just them (Meg & Jack). They have no backing band or vocalist or anything it's just them and they can rock it. Also their stage crew wore black suits, red ties and fedora hats - very classy! I totally heart Jack White.
The Shins opened up for them and well like in Garden State they may ROCK on your headphones but they are boring as hell live. At least they were yesterday - sorry emo rockers. Oh and during the Stripes I was standing just a few feet from Jim Jarmusch (not Mr. Ball) of Coffee & Cigarettes fame. You would think he would have VIP seats or something but no he was standing amongst the common folks, which I thought was nice.
But the show was not the most exciting part of my AWESOME musical Saturday. I have just recently fixed my iPod and well was about to upload some new tunes to it as I treated myself to some new CD's. I connected to iPodder to see if there were some new Supersuckers podcast I should have and low and behold the most awesome thing happened. All of a sudden I started to get songs from the live show I went to in Denver last year for my birthday. Can you fucking believe it??? I nearly crapped myself I was so happy. I have listened to it and you cannot hear me screaming "SHE'S MY BITCH" every few minutes (my favorite song they never play live) so I dare you all to download the show here and enjoy (no really click here). Oh but be warned all the songs after "Rock n Roll Records" are mislabeled - the one right after that song is another interlude followed by all the songs EXCEPT the grand finally "Born With a Tail" which is a shame. Because that song rocks hard. Maybe I'll see you bitches at their shows in December her in the NYC area - and possibly in San Francisco on New Years Eve if I'm really lucky.
