Cootie Girl: Tis' the season to be crabby, fa la la la la ....
12.4.2005
Yes kids it is that time of the year again. Time for the onslaught of holiday cheer, parties and let's not forget shopping. OH and the never-ending search for the perfect thing to do on New Years Eve. Do you know what you are doing? I know what I am doing - I am staying home on NYE because I have the good fortune to be working on New Years DAY! Don't be jealous now, cause I know you all are.
Oh and my nazi company is having a holiday party this year - not sure if it is a cash bar like last year but I won't be going to find out. I got tickets to the Ranger's game that night and I sucked up and sent the HR woman a response that I couldn't make it. I think she told everyone in our other office because they were like yeah someone is going to a hockey game instead and I was like "that's me"!
I don't understand what all the fuss is around this time of year. It seems everywhere is overly crowded with the most annoying people and everything seems to irritate me. I went to a new bar near my job on Friday after work for a few drinks with my friends. It is on 33rd street between 5th & Madison and it was HORRIBLE! I don't know the name but it looks all new and modern outside and even has a velvet rope but it was all cold and un-inviting inside. Oh and they have this drink special 2 for 1 until 8pm (they don't tell you that they charge 2 for 1). Now I hate to ask after buying a drink how much shit cost but we ordered a Corona, Jack & club soda and a Tanqueray & tonic and it came to $29 for 3 fucking drinks!!!! Don't go to this place - it sucked.
To top off this crabby mood I am now in for a the better part of two weeks ... I take out this old pair of snow shoes I have because I didn't want wet feet in the cold office today and I feel like I have a flat tire. They are totally worn down on one side so badly I feel like I am walking lopsided. I must have had an insole or something in it last year because I don't remember them being so off. I must get some new shoes - maybe I'll try out those Keens everyone is talking about. These shoes are going in the trash when I get home.
