elanamatic: SARS Jordan
I had a ticket to today's SARSstock Rolling Stone Concert Extravaganza but decided to bail. Does this make me a lame "old lady?" After mentally sorting out the pros and cons, I feel my decision is Justified, pun intended. By the time I'd be able to get there and enter the park, I would only be privy to performances by The Guess Who, AC/DC and The Stones.
All my respect to the acts for their participation. All the support for Toronto and the way the country has pulled together is great, it's just too bad it took an epidemic to bring us to this point.
For some folks I know the attraction is the half million other rock fans, for me this is one of the biggest deterrants. I've been to my share of over the top riotous shows.
Saying that, being a definite Stones fan (one of my most successful artistic endeavours in high school was the large tongue-in-mouth I penned on the toe of my blue converse sneakers. I also have a photo of them from their UK heydays in the 70s hanging in the kitchen) part of me wishes I was there to stand witness. I wouldn't have minded seeing them perform alongside the Flaming Lips or Justin Timberlake. I guess I will have to settle for the TV repeats. I'll live.
Ok, I am tiring of this subject. It's been cooked to death by the media hype in this city.
Some random good news (I think) Xray results say my fingers are not broken or dislocated. I still need to see a specialist next week but I hope there is no permanent damage. Hooray!
