- Eat at Cafe San Tropol (St. Urbain) If it's warmish out, you can sit in the beautiful back garden and feed the goldfishies your leftovers. Every sandwich there is so yummy and so huge. Also, the milkshakes make me risk suffering tremendous lactose intolerance.
- Eat at Schwartz's Deli (St. Laurent) If you like smoked meat, this is it. Get a pickle and a black cherry coke on the side.
- Bars: Blizzart (St. Laurent) great djs. (if it's still around) Billy Coon St. Elizabeth (I think it's on St. Elizabeth, might be better as a summer place) I haven't lived there in so long everything has prob changed. sigh.
- Shopping: Les Cours Mont Royal for fancy shmancy designer goods. St. Laurent street for hipster fun. Mont Royal for amazing vintage. St. Catherine for the latest in latex and hooker boots. Simon's Department store for deals.
- Fun: If it was the summer I'd say go to the Tam Tams at Mont Royal on Sunday for chilled out happy times. Since it's prob freezing out, bring a blanket and rent a car and make out at the top of the mountain at night. Musee Des Beaux Arts is nice. There's the McCord Hockey Museum which I hear is good too. McGill campus is beautiful to walk around.
hmmm... all I do these days in Montreal is eat a lot of food and visit my ageing relatives.
Oh yeah, you must eat at a local greasy spoon either LaFleur's or La Belle Province. Have a poutine, a hot dog (I don't eat those but I am told) and maybe some grape drink from the machine.
