my main drink of choice is water. lots and lots of water. i once gave up soda and kool-aid for lent one year and didn't drink it again for like 10 years or something. now and again i do enjoy some soda. like today - it's something like 80 degrees on a march day and i just needed a nice vanilla coke. pretzels go good with coke too. anyway, here's what i don't understand: soda is not a thirst quencher to me. it's just candy. so when i see commercials where someone is downing a soda after playing basketball i think "ew. don't you just want a big tall glass of water?". even as i enjoy my vanilla coke right now, i am taking sips of water because the soda is actually making me thirsty. hm. maybe it's just me.
craig and i leave for paris (please pronounce it "pair-ee") in 25 days. i've never been outside the u.s. aside from the bahamas and canada. this is going to be one long ass flight. i am culling traveling tips from all you world travelers: what snacks should i bring? what sleeping accoutrements do i need? books on cd or just music? we leave at 8pm on the way over to france and then leave in the morning on the way back - how should i prepare to get some sleep on the plane? finally, if i get deep vein thrombosis, what should i do? email all your wise advice to vasalisa7@yahoo.com.
