i have an update on the buffalo soldier guy, as reference in this previous post. He seems to have de-buffalo soldierized his van. The only thing that is left is "buffalo soldier" on the top of the windshield. perhaps he's gearing up to sell his van? i don't know. i'll keep you posted.

nate (river rat), jason (dog years) and myself have been sharing our writings and giving critiques and helping each other "flesh out" our work. "fleshing out" a story was a big thing in all my creative writing classes when i was at UNCW. anyway, it's been very great and we chat about our favorite books and authors in addition to our writing aspirations and then afterward, nate and jason make fun of me for being bossy and keeping them on task. it's all great fun.

it's warming up here in north cacalackie. well, it WAS warming up. it's lately been a bit chilly. but flowers are starting to bloom and trees are starting to bud and we get three precious months of perfect weather before the heat gets turned up and we start to bake here in the tar heel state.

according to gal-pal julie, she hadn't yet heard the "passion of christ" joke i sprung on her the other night on the phone. it goes like this: "someone at work asked if i was going to see "the passion" and i told them no because i already read the book and i know how it ends". ba-dum-bump! thank you, folks! i'll be here indefinitely! remember, you heard it here first!
