there is a brand of books in the book world called "priddy books" and i am obsessed with them. if you looked at ella's bookshelf you would think that my main goal in life is to collect every book they publish. well, you would be right. i love them for several reasons - all the books are very sturdy and durable (ella has yet to ruin one); they're all bright and cheery and feature real photography and not just cartoony pics; and they're just cool - for example, in one of ella's books it has the word "car" and it shows a photos of a mini-cooper. cool, right?
one of the priddy books she has is this tiny 2"x2" "chunky" book titled "kittens" and it just lists the names of kittens on the inside with photos of them. the names crack me up: tinkers, tinsel, snowdrop, snoops, frisbee, milly, paws, smokey (called "ole smokey" around our house), scraps and wally. amazon sells it for 97 cents except unfortunately, it has "97 cents" printed on the corner. blah.
the kittens book reminds me of telly from sesame street who has a cat named "little murray sparkles" and a hamster named "chuckie sue". crazy stuff, man.
so, if you see a priddy book (i often find them cheap at marshall's) buy it - your kid will love it.
