–the holiday season is especially fun with a toddler because it just doesn't make sense. a tree? in the house?! what the hell?! santa! presents! the maccabees! it's all madness. ella makes up for this by shouting "happy halloween!" each time she sees a christmas tree.
–we got our christmas tree a few days ago. craig went all griswold family on me and brought home an 8-footer. ella and i were reading upstairs this morning when we heard a tremendous crash and found our tree laying on its side in the living room. it took a classic america's funniest video's header onto the floor for no apparent reason (maybe the stand is too small?). anyway, no one was around videotaping it, nor did anyone get hit in the crotch so ella won't be going to harvard on an free ride from ABC. bummer.
–oprah does her list of favorite things; so do i. my list has one thing this year and i'm buying it for lots of people: table topics. fun. clever.
–and please, take some time out of your busy day and go elf yourself. it's particulary funny when you use grandparent's and grandchildren's photos.
