i was in ny for all of one day this past weekend. a lovely combination of seeing lots of friends for lots of fun reasons. it was rainy and crappy and my driver, rich, picked me up in a zip car to, well, zip around the city and retrieve the dazzling mrs. robot. then we had dee-lish sammies and cookies and tea and good times. there's lots of funny stories i can tell you. most involve "little people" but i just can't muster up the strength right now. i'd also like to say that i'd forgotten how soppy the city gets when it rains. you really need hip waders to get around. i played around with a flash that rich owns and took a photo of R&R that looks like one of those full-sized dioramas at the museum of natural history. this one would be titled "cool brooklynites in their natural habitat, circa 2008":
