--I come up with a lot of inventions throughout my days but I always forget to write them down. One I always remember when it’s raining is some sort of pocket on the door of my car that allows me to slide an umbrella into it. There IS a pocket on my door currently but it barely holds an Altoid container – maybe they’re bigger on SUVs? Another invention has one going to the grocery store and when you purchase your groceries, someone puts them in a bag for you, rather than you bagging them yourself. I hear in the old days this invention wasn’t so novel, but I’d like to see it in action today. Or I’d like a $5 rebate for doing work while I’m at the grocery store.
--With the cold cold coldness upon us, we’ve been eating breakfast-for-dinner a lot. I don’t know why, but it’s just a nice warm dinner to have. And thus, we’ve been eating bacon frequently because what kind of breakfast is a breakfast if it doesn’t have bacon? The other day I asked Ella what she wanted for snack and she said “Can I have a bowl of bacon?” Maybe we’ll cut back on the bacon for a little while…
--It’s that time of year when I start gearing up for taxes and I begin to curse – a plague on both your houses! – the person who thought up taxes and made up the forms. Even though I do my taxes online, I still curse the whole system. Tiny boxes! Incomprehensible questions! Complicated math problems! Argh!
--I miss film cameras. I really do. I hate the way digital photos print out. Do you have a print service that you use and like? I was using Kodak Gallery but the past few batches of pics I got were real crap. Kodak does all this automated color-correct business and zoom and crop stuff that drives me nuts! It seems that no matter what I select or deselect, I always miss something and my prints come out a mess. I’m looking for real crisp and clear prints. I wish I could invent a film/digital camera – like you could take 100 photos and then once you decided which you liked, they would be transferred to the film for printing. Nice! Evidently, they exist but are very very expensive (click to access Photojojo forum. Photojojo is my new fav Web site!).
--Did you know our house is ski-in/ski-out (cross-country, that is) with access to miles and miles of trails? It’s also hike-in/hike-out and snowshoe-in/snowshoe-out. You could come visit if you want. Although, the temp in our house is very close to the temp outside on any given day so bring warm clothes. We set-up steel drums in each room and stoke fires in them all night long like real hobos do, but still. Brrrrrrr.
