- I watched the Inauguration online at work – thanks, work! The whole inauguration day seemed a bit Jesus-heavy, but that’s between me and Jesus, right?
- What is UP with Jimmy Carter? Every time he gets around the other Prezzies, he acts like he just realized he pledged the wrong fraternity.
- I loved the inaugural poem written and read by Elizabeth Alexander. I was bummed that it got a bit of a diss here and there. I thought Alexander read it a little wonky and even I didn’t know she was done reading until she stepped away from the podium. Hm.
- I love that Obama got a “re-do” with the swearing-in speech just to make it officially official. He transposed some words on Tuesday and so they just did another quick recitation of it last night. Gotta love a re-do. I heard they also did a separate swearing-in for Joe Biden’s teeth.
- Do you think all the Supreme Court Justices are BFF or what?
- At “The Neighborhood Ball” on CBS, Ray Romano did a bit of stand-up that was pretty funny. He wondered if Obama would start his first day like everyone else starts their first day of work: “Where’s my desk? When’s lunch? When do we get paid?” He also said that when Obama does get his check he’ll look at it like regular people and say “Holy crap, look how much gets taken out for federal! Who do I see about that?” Heh.
- In last Sunday’s NY Times Magazine, there was a cool slideshow on Obama’s staff and I’m totally obsessed with it. Some of these peeps are so young! What the heck? What am I doing with my life? Oh, that’s right – picking up poop.
