Digging weed in Orillia (originally:Six arrested for unburying confiscated marijuana)
ORILLIA - Six people are facing drug charges after someone dug up marijuana from a landfill.
Police dumped the dope after a bust in Orillia. The bust is believed to be the largest drug bust in Ontario history: 20,000 plants were seized from a farm in the area last week.
According to a witness, people heard the pot had been dumped in the landfill, and showed up overnight with shovels and garbage bags. The man who runs the Orillia Pot Shop says people are now selling "dump weed" on the streets of the town.
Police say there was too much marijuana to incinerate. That's why they decided to bury it.
