Pony: Things that have never gone out of style in Montreal:
11.28.2002

Goth culture/magic cards
GenX lifestyle (so much less angstful when living is cheap)
The 3rd world bazaar look (Chris coined that one)
clothing with paint on it that says "look, I am an artist"
Poetry readings
Two solitudes

My French has not improved much in the past while. I feel kind of guilty about it. I have not really been trying. Something tells me that I would tackle Hindi with more enthusiasm at this point.

Funny story that won't leave my head:
A friend of a friend's father is a belligerent alcholic, blue collar worker who regularly gets booted out of bars. His one emotional outlet is the wedding channel. He sits in front of the TV and weeps copiously while his family mocks him.
